We have been privately commissioned by a couple who have bought an old Arts and Crafts House and have demolished most parts of it but retained the true essence of the house. The client asked us to come up with an interior concept, assist with space and light planning, and to create the schedule based on their architectural plans with the brief that the house needs to be a statement piece, elegant, comfortable and a home for a growing family.
For all intensive purposes, the property retains its core characteristics externally from the Arts and Crafts period, the interior of the property has however taken on its own personality, portraying the families wishes and desires as this is their ‘forever home’.
Whilst exploring the brief with the family keywords that came out was family, comfortable, friendly, inviting, social, warm, elegant, impressive and sumptuous amongst other things. We created the schedule first and went through it with the clients to see what their views are and further refined the look based on their feedback. Once we narrowed the look down we created the CGI of each space so the family could see what the spaces looked like with the actual furniture they chose.
